On the final morning of our recent trip to Glacier National Park, we did one last hike: a 2-mile jaunt up to Apikuni Falls, a tall and skinny waterfall separated from the road by about a mile of trail. It was definitely worth fitting into our last few hours in the park. The hike was a little over an hour, short enough we didn’t get exhausted but long enough to be satisfying, and I liked the waterfall more than most we’d seen on this trip. We never saw anybody else until just as we were getting close to the trailhead.

09:02: This is where the trail briefly gets pretty steep, to the point that I got on all fours for a moment or two.
09:05: Looking up the slope to the right after the climb. The falls, though, were to our left.
09:06: Even from this distance, I felt the spray.
09:09: It was pretty easy to walk right up to the water. I didn’t do it myself, but Camilla went for it. She said the force of the water was too strong to go all the way underneath it, but she got face to face with it.

09:43: It was around this time that we first saw other hikers on this trail, parents with a young kid. The mom asked us if we saw any bears and seemed very relieved that we had not.
